Greening the Mind (GMT)
The program promotes sustainable environmental practices through education in schools and communities. It works to enhance the participation of school-going children and youth in environmental restoration. This is to enhance nutrition security in the working regions while providing them with alternative economic opportunities.
The project main aims to provide a platform for pupils, students and community to benefit from environmental education and learn values, skills, behaviours and lifestyles that can lead towards job creation, improve food security and contribute to environmental sustainability. We project that through the program, the younger generation will be inspired and engaged to value nature and develop a passion for green entrepreneurship as a means for their livelihoods, while at the same time contributing to local and national economic and environmental sustainability. The project, further, aims at helping children and youth to build community spirit and social cohesion, while also developing a positive attitude towards agriculture and rural-based occupations as forms of decent livelihoods.
